Adowa Brashers, MA, LLP
Ypsilanti office
Adowa is a licensed psychotherapist in Michigan. She earned her master's degree at The Michigan School of Psychology in 2018. Since this period, she has enjoyed working in Clinical Psychology, becoming an author, and continuing her Entrepreneur work. Additionally, she is a mother and caregiver which has molded her into an empathetic, compassionate, understanding, and dedicated individual.
She has experience treating children, adolescents, teens, adults, and couples. Adowa has experience working with clients suffering from low self-esteem, depression, mental challenges, childhood abuse, relationships, life stress, anxiety, grief, mental-related disorders, and more. She offers flexibility to my clients to extend comfort in scheduling, such as providing morning, afternoon, evening, weekends, in-person and telehealth sessions.
During therapy sessions, Adowa utilizes many therapeutic methods to assist clients. She uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Humanistic Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and more! Therapy homework is often assigned to clients to encourage positive behaviors outside therapy and build positive tools for life goals. The homework is not mandatory or meant to stress out clients; it will be activities the client enjoys or will bring the client positive thoughts. During treatment, we'll recognize and identify positive and negative thought and behavior patterns. Together we will create a unique treatment plan that will help the client to address the significant issues bringing them to therapy. Psychotherapy can help clients regain confidence, and self-esteem, build meaningful relationships and create new life goals!
